At the Smarter Sensors, Smarter Fabs: AI at the Edge in Semiconductor Manufacturing workshop earlier this year, attendees explored how AI-enabled sensors and edge intelligence can deliver scalable, resilient solutions for the next generation of semiconductor manufacturing. The workshop explored four main topics, with each highlighting a unique edge-AI implementation area: 🔹 Smarter Sensors and Edge Intelligence for Advanced Process Control 🔹 Yield Enhancement Through Edge-Driven Defect Detection and Classification 🔹 Autonomous Work in Process Movement: Robots, Sensors, and Edge AI Coordination 🔹Predictive Maintenance at the Edge: From Vibration to Vision This workshop highlighted how edge AI, smart sensors, and advanced connectivity are transforming semiconductor manufacturing by enabling real-time process control, faster defect detection, and more autonomous operations. Many device companies have noted improvements in the industrial semiconductor segment, and this is creating a more broad-based recovery as wafer inventory is absorbed.
