TAXES AND FEES THAT CAN BE PAID ONLINE Property Tax Traffic Tickets Consumption Taxes (GCT & SCT) Payroll Taxes Business Related Taxes Betting Tax Hotel Tax Other Fees and Licenses To pay online you need: A valid Credit Card An email address A Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) STEPS TO PAY TAXES ONLINE If you are using the service for the first time, you will need to log on to the website: www.jamaicatax-online.gov.jm and create a user name and password. The process is simple just follow the six (6) steps below to pay your taxes: Log on to website Create a user name and password Select the option to pay the taxes online a. Select the Tax Type you wish to pay and confirm tax details Add to ‘today’s tax total’ (Add to your account) a. Select another tax to pay if required then pay using your credit card View and print/write reference number for your records Log off website RETURNS THAT CAN BE FILED ONLINE Consumption Tax Returns (GCT 4A, 4C 4D, 4E & SCT) Income Tax Returns (IT01, IT02, IT05, IT06, IT07, etc.) Payroll Returns (SO1, S02 Form) Education Tax Returns (ET01, ET02, ETO3) To file online you need: To have a login which is obtained through self registration Business name and address Filing period Password To register for e-filing, please contact the Customer Care Centre at 1-888-TAX-HELP or download the Application for Electronic Filing Account Registration form from the our website, complete and submit to the nearest Tax Office. STEPS TO FILE ONLINE Log into the website www.jamaicatax-online.gov.jm Scroll down to Tax Return Click ‘File Return’ and select the preferred ‘Tax Type’ Click retrieve Click ‘Show Form’ from the File Tax Return – information screen Enter relevant data on return All fields highlighted must be completed Check all boxes marked as mandatory In Section (D) Declaration check the box whether or not documents were uploaded. NOTE THAT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS CAN EITHER BE UPLOADED BEFORE OR AFTER COMPLETING RETURNS "EXCEPT IT06 (PAYE ANNUAL RETURN) WHICH MUST BE DONE FIRST" All attachments relating to Payroll contributions should be saved in ASCII/Text Delimited format. A fixed penalty is attached to each offence and may be paid to a Collector of Taxes. Pay Traffic Ticket Motor Vehicle Fitness Fees Certificate of Fitness Fees can be paid online using a valid credit card. The transaction will also require your Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN). Present the printed receipt and/or reference number to a specified Island Traffic Authority location (Depot) for the vehicle to be inspected, certified (passed) and the Certificate issued. A Motor Vehicle Certificate of Fitness is one of the documents that is needed to verify to the Police that an individual and/or vehicle has the right to be driving. Pay Motor Vehicle Fitness Fees Drivers' Licence Renewal Fees Drivers’ Licence Renewal Fees can be paid online using a valid credit card. To process the transaction the user will be required to input the, TRN for the Owner, the Expiry Date and the Control Number from the Drivers Licence being renewed. Upon completion of the payment the payer will be required to print the receipt generated for use in the renewal of the drivers licence. The renewal process will require the owner or authorized person to present a copy of the receipt, present/submit a copy of the front and back of the current/expired Driver's Licence for the applicant, a completed “Application for Driver’s Licence Transactions” (Form F7) and a passport sized photograph of the applicant (where applicable) to a Tax Office. Driver's Licence Renewal Status Renew Motor Vehicle Registration You may make a payment for renewal of motor vehicle registration using this option. As part of the payment process you will be required to select a Tax Office from a list of available pickup locations for your renewed registration document. You will be required to have valid Insurance, validated via electronically from your Insurance Company, as well as valid Fitness. After successful payment the new Certificate will be ready for pickup within 1-3 business days at the Tax Office selected. You will also be advised via email when the Certificate is ready for pickup. PLEASE NOTE: This service is currently unavailable. Please visit the Tax Office of your choice to complete your renewal transaction. Renew Motor Vehicle Registration Track Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal You may use this option to track the motor vehicle registration renewal status if a payment was made for motor vehicle renewal online. Track Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal Property Tax Property Tax, commonly referred to as Land Tax is levied on a person in possession of land such as the owner, occupier or mortgagee. Revenue from Property Tax is used to fund property related services such as the collection of garbage, expansion and maintenance of street lighting, community infrastructure and civic improvements, repairs to fire stations and rehabilitation of the parochial road network.
